Having trained in producing, performance, and facilitation, I view my practice as multidisciplinary and ever changing. By curating space for exploration, I provide opportunity for individuals who have a need or want to engage in an artistic process. In placing my practice alongside the work of others, I consider the form that compliments our shared aims and objectives. It is in the space between your agency and mine, curation becomes key. What frame holds the aims of the audience and the artist?
My values as a practitioner are centred on accessibility and community. I aim to provide platforms for and produce work that shares these interests. It is integral to me that the platforms used by artists are opened up and questioned. Who is our work for? By creating performance in a time where finance and space dedicated to the arts is a rare commodity, how can we use our practices to meet the needs of many? Specifically, how can I make my work yours?
I am interested in creating spaces where performers share their emotional and physical journey with the audience. I view performance making as an opportunity to design experiences where all present are asked to question their role in constructing the society we live in.
My understanding of facilitation acts as the foundation of my aims as a producer. With the view that we can educate ourselves and others through performance and collaboration, I am keen to produce spaces for sharing. I aim to curate spaces that allow artists and audiences to experiment with their identity, self representation and skill set.
